Easy Shopping

As we come to the end of 2013 and shortly in a few days start 2014 eating healthy is one New Years Resolution many people make each and every year. Time and time again though people don’t stick with this resolution when going to the grocery store to buy food for the week or for a few days. I am going to provide some great tips so you can stick with buying only what you need in regards to food.

Fresh fruit! Even meat lovers still like fruit.

If you are planning on eating healthy these tips will help you in reaching your goal.

Tip #1– Eat before you do the below tips.

Tip #2– Write a list of everything you will need either for a day, a few days, or even a week. If you write the list after you eat, you will be less likely to write down items  you don’t really need because you wont be hungry.

Tip #3– Look for pictures in magazines, or on the internet that might spark your interest to eat healthy. Presentation of food can make a difference in how it appeals to people.

This might look good, but after you eat this you will wish you didn't. You will feel sluggish.

Tip #4– Make sure you stick to a budget when shopping for healthy food. Some food can be expensive but depending on where you live some stores will give better deals than others. Do some research on what stores offer the best deals. Just because a store might be a close drive for you doesn’t always mean you are getting a better deal. If you follow this tip you will find you can get more healthy food for you money. I learned this by switching up where I would buy my food. I save on average $30-$35 a week just by driving 5 minutes further to a different store.

Tip #5– Portion size is another way to limit how much you spend when buying food. If you don’t have any type of measuring cup or dish you can purchase one at the Dollar Store if you are trying to cut costs. In the long run this will help you when buying food so you don’t buy more than you need. I never like to waste food.

Great food to be healthy and feeling better. All on the outside aisle.

Tip #6– Stay to the outside aisles for the majority of your shopping. If you notice next time you are at the store most of the items (in regards to food) are healthy that are on the outside aisles. When you start to walk down the inner aisles then you see all the food that you might crave, but isn’t’ necessarily the best either.

A big selection of different vegetables.

      Lovejoy Styles,

Thank you so much for looking at my blog. I am glad you found different topics of interest to you. Eating better does take some work if its not something you normally do, but it takes time to makes changes. I started my diet on 1/1/14. So today has been 25 days already. I have lost just over 9 lbs. I actually did 2 videos so far on my progress. I am doing my diet the healthy way with no DIET pills or DIET supplements. I will be posting two different diets under the “Healthy Habits” section, where you found this post located. I am going to post Diet #1 that I am currently doing today. So you will be able to find that later this afternoon or evening depending on what time zone you are in. I plan next weekend to do a video talking about my diet #1 as well.
