Insecure or Kudos you decide
Maria was not always thin as many woman have assumed she was blessed with a thin frame body.

Insecure or Kudos you decide

I ask you this would you feel insecure about being in the same room with another person you thought looked beautiful or you thought had a great body or even not be friends with the person because you feel threatened by how they look? Would you give kudos the meaning of praise for something that one has accomplished if that person looked great?

There was a post on Facebook by Maria Kang as some of you might have heard or read about. Maria is a mother of 3 young boys. The post titled “What’s your Excuse?” has sparked much outrage with many woman posting negative feedback about what Maria had to say. The message Maria was trying to send was not meant to be negative or putting other woman down for their weight, but in fact Maria was talking about her own success and what she has done to get the weight off. Maria posted this great pic of herself and her three young boys.

In society from my perspective some woman tend to be more insecure or jealous of other woman who they feel threatened by just because the other woman might workout and look good. Making a pre-judgment about someone just because of how they look can add to your own insecurities. I do understand why some people think what Maria had to say came across as rude, self-centered, and putting down to others. I say this because many times people don’t like to hear the truth especially if it involves hard work and staying determined to stay healthy and fit. Let’s face it if you eat like crap you are going to feel crap. Your energy levels will be low and you will just feel sluggish all the time and not have a desire to do much of anything but be a couch potato. If you eat healthy you will feel well-balanced,  want to get out and be more active and feel more secure about yourself.

Below we have a video that came out in October from HLN regarding the post from Maria.

Did you know that recently Maria had been banned from Facebook? This was due to a post that has now been deleted where Maria talked about how plus-size woman were receiving positive encouragement to post pictures in lingerie. An online group that supports the posting for the plus-size woman feels this is what “real woman” look like.  The link below from Yahoo shares more of what Maria had to say about this post.

What some people don’t know is that Maria actually had an eating disorder, so for the people who think she has just been blessed having a thin body they are wrong. This goes back to being insecure and not giving kudos to someone who has worked hard to keep the weight off. I myself struggle with my weight as I have an under active thyroid so keeping weight off is harder and takes work, but you can keep your weight balanced.

You can see in the face where Maria was not as thin. I personally think she looks beautiful either way. Ultimately Maria wanted to change and took the necessary steps to make that happen. I give her kudos for all the hard work and not giving up. You go girl!

Beautiful

Beautiful

I found this great pic off of Google that shows just because you are a mom of young kids doesn’t mean you can’t be active. This motivates me and I hope inspires you as well. Ladies lets stick together and support each other. When you eat healthy you feel good and when you look good you feel more secure. We can build each other up instead of putting each other down.

GIRL POWER!

I think this is awesome and it proves you can get out and get in shape while spending time with the kids and friends.

I know I think its a shame because some people just cant afford the things that others can. So working with what you have can be easier said than done at times. Strive for your goals and you will get to where you want.

  • Great post, I agree! We need to work together, not work at tearing each other down! I LOVE that last picture of the mom’s doing lunges with strollers!! 😀
